Reconciliation with God

The world is by its very nature an enemy of everything that can be associated with God and what comes from him. Likewise, God was also enemy of the world and its inhabitants.

The World Reconciled

19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in the Son 20 and through him to reconcile all things to himself by making peace through the blood of his cross– through him, whether things on earth or things in heaven. Colossians 1:19-20, NET©

The world has been reconciled with God through the blood of Jesus on the cross of calvary. It doesn’t matter that the world is still hostile to God. God has reconciled the world with himself, and therefore there is peace on earth and in heaven.

Mankind Reconciled

21 And you were at one time strangers and enemies in your minds as expressed through your evil deeds, 22 but now he has reconciled you by his physical body through death to present you holy, without blemish, and blameless before himColossians 1:21-22, NET©

Mankind was also in enmity against God in the anticipation of judgment against those who has sinned. We were hostile toward God in our minds and actions, and failed, because of original sin, to not be opposed against God.

By letting Jesus suffer death on the cross, God created peace between himself and mankind, and can therefore offer us repentance and salvation.

Jesus Is the Mediator

24 For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with hands– the representation of the true sanctuary– but into heaven itself, and he appears now in God’s presence for us. Hebrews 9:24, NET©

Jesus is our high priest and mediator. He walked before the throne of God and brought reconciliation for us before God.

He did not enter the earthly temple, but faced the altar of the heavenly tabernacle, and offered his own blood as the atonement for the transgressions of the world and mankind.

Peace with God

1 Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, Romans 5:1, NET©

If you have received Jesus as savior and been justified, then you have personally gained peace with God through faith in Jesus’ crucifixion, death and resurrection.

Boldly Before God

19 Having therefore, brothers, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 By a new and living way, which he has consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; Hebrews 10:19-20, KJV

If you have been reconciled with God, then you can walk into the most holy. The most holy represents a place in your walk with God where he is intimate.

God has opened the veil that hindered us from a personal relationship with him, and now the way is open to those who are justified by faith.
