Please God
6 Now without faith it is impossible to please him, for the one who approaches God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. Hebrews 11:6, NET©
There is only one way to please God, and it is to believe that he exists and rewards us for seeking him. What opens up for his mercy, is that we have faith in him. Without faith there is no mercy. It is by his mercy and kindness, that grace is available through faith.
Faith like a Mustard Seed
6 So the Lord replied, “If you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this black mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled out by the roots and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.” Luke 17:6, NET©
It doesn’t matter what size your faith is, tiny or great. The importance is, that you set what faith you have to God, and that it is faith. Then God will respond through his mercy and come through to you.
God does not see to the greatness, but to the sincerity. If you come to God with a sincere heart, then he wants to answer you.
Saving Faith
5 so that your faith would not be based on human wisdom but on the power of God. 1 Corinthians 2:5, NET©
There is a difference between believing and having faith. Most people who believe something often have an intellectual belief, or emotional belief. Which implies that the faith in God is based on a logical conclusion or emotional state.
The faith that touches God is the faith that comes from the inner of the heart, that believes that God is personal, and that he is interested in us. He is a personal God that we can know and trust, just like a close friend.
Faith comes from hearing
17 Consequently faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the preached word of Christ. Romans 10:17, NET©
If I don’t have faith, where then can I get it? The bible says that faith comes from the hearing, and the hearing of the preached word of Christ. Those who are acquainted with the scriptures knows that Jesus is referred to as the living Word of God.
When we start to study the scriptures, and learn to know the truth of God, that truth will set us free. This means that when the truth is spoken, faith comes into our hearts and becomes active.
2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold firmly to the message I preached to you– unless you believed in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:2, NET©
The gospel is the joy message, about the story of Jesus and the salvation for us. If we believe the gospel and hold on to it, we will eventually be saved.
A Faith That Grows
3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brothers, as it is meet, because that your faith grows exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other abounds; 2 Thessalonians 1:3, KJV
If we have a small amount of faith, with which we received Jesus. That faith may grow. By seeking God, praying and doing what is good towards our neighbor, then our faith will grow as we walk with Jesus and become more like him.
