The purpose
The House to the Lord is all about the Kingdom of God, not just as a collective, but also as members of the Body of Christ being built up and coming together.
You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood.
1 Peter 2:5
The motto is: “You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood.” from 1 Peter 2:5.
In this motto we can find three items:
- The living stones
- The House of the Lord
- A holy priesthood
We are all living stones. As stones, we need to be shaped to fit into the building project of our God. But God doesn’t cut out stones with a chisel. He wants round stones that aren’t rough, but that has been shaped by wind and water, that is by experience and trials.
The house is the Temple of God, the Body of Christ, but there is also a blueprint for how the living stones are supposed to be put together, and function as members glued together with love for of one another.
When the temple has been built we, the children of God, is a priesthood that can give ourselves as a sacrifice for the Kingdom of God, to be spread all over the world and make a difference.
