16 You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. Exodus 20:16, NET©
In the mosaic law, it was very serious to talk trash about others, and to gossip. Everything that someone said about others, was counted as legally binding testimony.
In the New Testament
In the new testament it is equally important to control your tongue. Not to be tempted to gossip, or letting slander come out your mouth uncontrolled.
8 But now, put off all such things as anger, rage, malice, slander, abusive language from your mouth. Colossians 3:8, NET©

5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasts great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindles!
6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and has been tamed of mankind:
8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
10 Out of the same mouth proceeds blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not so to be.

Everything unclean you say with your mouth, makes your heart and persona filthy. Whether it’s slander, gossip, trash- or dirty talk, or what it may be.
Are You a Babbler?
If you’re a slanderer, trash-talker or just a common chatter nagger, you’ll need to repent to Jesus for salvation, deliverance and forgiveness.
